While launch day purchasers have had more than three years of access to a library of hundreds of songs, the fact remains that existing copies of Guitar Hero Live will be severely limited as of December. The downside of this expanded streaming access, of course, is that it only lasts as long as Activision is willing to provide it (which is, apparently, through November 30).

All told, 484 songs are currently available for Guitar Hero TV play, though only one of those was added in the last year. After that, Activision added six to nine new songs every week through April 2016, slowing to three new songs a week through the end of 2016, and then dropping down to an occasional trickle ever since. The Guitar Hero TV mode has definitely provided a wide selection of playable music since launching with 200 songs in October of 2015. He compared the Guitar Hero TV mode to streaming music options like Pandora and Spotify, which offer a wider selection of music than anyone can reasonably own with little to no upfront cost. FreeStyle Games Creative Director Jamie Jackson said during Guitar Hero Live's development that he felt the standard rhythm-game DLC song model made each song purchase "a big financial commitment up front and a tough decision to make, and it has always left me feeling like I have to replay that song until I’m bored of it to get my money’s worth." There was some valid upside in the move to a stream-based model for the bulk of Guitar Hero Live's songs. Both of these options will be cut off in December, and the in-game microtransaction purchases that help power those on-demand plays have already been shut off. Players can also use in-game rewards or microtransaction purchases to essentially rent access to those online songs on-demand, including a "party pass" that gave time-limited access to all available songs.

Instead, Guitar Hero Live players have free access to the few songs being streamed live at that moment on a handful of curated, rotating Guitar Hero TV channels. But the game eschews the usual option of purchasing additional songs as downloadable content.

That simple! Bridging one side is ps3, bridging the other is Wii. Open a Harmonix controller, and look for a bubble of solder near the edge of the board labeled J1 - J1.5. The instruments that used the factory controller(wiimote, sixaxxis, xbox) to interface with the console generally are not really interchanged. Therefore, they are not proprietary and unique to each system, and DO speak the same language across the board. They were made by Harmonix and/or Red Octane.

The dongles were not made by Nintendo, Sony, or Microsoft. While this is true for non-dongle GUITAR HERO controllers, it is not for ROCK BAND, and those with a dongle.

The simple fact is, if you search the web, everyone says no, not interchangeable, they don't speak the same language, bla bla. Possibly those Red Octane controllers using a dongle as well. Harmonix instruments simply have a jumper near the microcontroller to determine which system the instrument is for. To use them on consoles other then originally designated requires soldering. Guitar hero controllers are harder to interchange then Harmonix, but not impossible.

ANY Rock Band or Guitar Hero instrument that uses a dongle rather then a factory controller is interchangeable.
